Who We Are
While spending about a year in the States, the founder of Fressen Bakery—originally from Germany—found himself missing the breads, pretzels, and pastries of his homeland. One morning, over a scone and a cup of coffee, he decided to do something about it. Drawing on his training in the German baking guild and recipes from his mother’s cookbooks, he began baking. After years selling at farmers markets and supplying local restaurants and shops, the first Fressen Café opened in 2012.

Raised in Romania by his German family, Edgar spent his formative years on his grandparents’ farm, immersed in the rhythms of traditional food preparation and preservation. What once felt like everyday knowledge would later reveal itself as a dying craft. Today, Edgar honors those traditions by reimagining the recipes of his youth for a modern palate.
